AXIAL COMPRESSION |
The axial compression is the loss of the length of the Joint measured along the longitudinal axis.
|
AXIAL ELONGATION |
The increase of the Joint length measured along the longitudinal axis.
|
LATERAL OR TRANSVERSAL MOVEMENT |
Is the relative movement or displacement of the two ends of the Joint in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.
|
VIBRATION |
The capacity of the Flexible Joint to absorb the mechanical oscillations of the system.
|
ANGULAR MOVEMENT |
Is the angular displacement of the expansion Joint's longitudinal axis from its initial straight-line position, measured in degrees. The angular movement is a combination of the elongation and axial compression.
|
TORSIONAL MOVEMENT |
Is the rotative movement of one end of the expansion Joint with respect to the other. As in the case of angular movement, this movement is also measured in degrees. |
